About this tool
QR codes (Quick Response codes) are two-dimensional barcodes that store URLs, text, contact information, Wi-Fi credentials, and more. They are scannable by any smartphone camera and widely used in marketing, payments, and menus.
Adding QR codes to print materials, business cards, and posters, sharing Wi-Fi passwords, linking physical products to digital content, event check-in systems, and restaurant menus.
Frequently asked questions
How much data can a QR code store?
Up to 4,296 alphanumeric characters. For URLs, keep them short — longer QR codes become dense and harder to scan. Use a URL shortener for very long links.
What error correction level should I use?
Higher correction (Q or H) makes QR codes scannable even when partially damaged — useful for print. Lower levels (L or M) produce less dense codes easier to scan digitally. M is the standard default.
Can I use custom colors for a QR code?
Yes. This tool lets you set foreground and background colors. Ensure sufficient contrast — dark on light works best. Avoid light foregrounds on dark backgrounds as some scanners struggle with inverted colors.
